In a first for the aviation industry, the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities contracted with VMS on a performance-based contract to handle a full range of operations and maintenance services on the state-of-the-art baggage handling system, jet bridges, and other mechanical and electronic systems.

·          First performance-based contract for a major transportation facility in 2000 - Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel, Whittier, Alaska
 
·          First performance-based contract for movable bridges in 2002 – Florida Department of Transportation's District 5 
 
·          First performance-based contract for landside services for an airport facility in 2004 – Ted Stevens International Airport, Anchorage, Alaska
